Supporting Children with Medical Diagnoses in ECE

This two-hour training provides early childhood educators with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to support children with medical diagnoses in inclusive learning environments. Participants will explore common medical conditions that may be included in a child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and chronic health conditions. Through group discussions, real-life scenarios, and hands-on activities, educators will learn how to promote safety, inclusion, and participation for all children, fostering environments where every child can learn, play, and thrive. The session emphasizes communication, empathy, and collaboration with families and healthcare professionals to create a well-rounded support system.
